With the present equipment the freight office here can take care of 40 cars a day. antl with the new plant the handling capacity will be Increas ed to 125 cars a day. There was an Interesting case In Superior Court this week In which Martin illghtl'-h) was charged with having failed to work ( the road In hl-t township when sum- ' tnoned. The i.fndant was nolliled , one Saturday afternoon to work the road on the following Tuesday, hut could not he present nt the time, but offered to the supervisor u deposit of 11.75. which was refused. The trmi- , bl" was us much due to a personal difficulty some time previous us to anything else. Judge Moore Instructed the Jury that If they believed the evidence they should find the defendant guilty. They returned a verdict of guilty, and the attorney for the defendant ap pealed to the Supreme Court. Judge Moore sold that If the defendant hat) offered a much us 2, the amount required by law It would have plac ed the case In a different light. It Is learned that the young man who was killed anil his body so hor ribly mangled here last night was Kal I,. Murray, of Hurllngton. The hotly was shipped to-day to Hurllngton for Interment there.
