To The Hon. H. N. Pharr, W. C. Dowd, W. A. Orler and E. R. Pres. ton, Senator and Representatives, respectively, from Mecklenburg, Raleigh, N. C: "Gentlemen: As mnynr of the city of Charlotte. I bee lo rail your at tention to the fact that the commit tee appointed by the Jioarrl of aliler mcn to draft the proposed new char ter upon the two and one-half-mile extension plan, which was so heartily recommended by the several commit tees, and endorsed by said board of aldermen, Is now ready to carry out Its Instructions. "It must be evident to you, gentle- Is still open. The 49th series of shares In the Mechanics Perpetual Building and Loan Association will open March 1 1st. Prospective borrowers may enter i their subscriptions the first of next month and make application for loans. Tho 32nd series of shares of stock In the Mutual Building and Loan As sociation will mature next month. A handsome sum will then be divided among the subscribers. St. Peter's Episcopal Sunday Hchool. Davidson,-who was arraigned before Acting- Recorder 8. H, Hilton yester day morning on the charge of violat ing the Watta law by writing a whis key prescription for a man who was not his bona fide patient and who was not 111. Dr. Davidson was rep resented by Messrs, W. C. Mix well and J. E. Little. : It, jE. On being told that corn was preferable, the doctor began writing the script, at the same time telling Hendersor to exhibit - his tongue. Henderson poked out his taster, coughed up 60 cents and received the script, His next move was to take an overdose of the bug-Juice and fall Into the hands of the guardians of the law, but this latter fac had no bearing on the case yesterday morn ing. Dr. Davidson did not go on the stand, choosing to make hiM statement j aim ngni in me superior Court, to which he was bound over. Mack Thompson, colored, was bound over to the Sunerlor Court and sent to Jail In default of bond on the c harge or stealing a jvatch from Joe Robinson, also colored. The case of Annie Young, the chambermaids at the Hotel Buford, who is charged with abstracting $195 from the trunk of Monsieur R. Raabc, was continued until to-morrow morning.
