The Recorder Has the Moral Rapport of tle Colored People To the Editor of The Observer: , In a recent Issue of The Observer the recorder was commended very .1 highly for his fidelity and congratu lated for his vigorous enforcement of tbe law. Those who spoke on that occasion, I think, expressed the feel ings and the views nf the community, : both of the white and colored people. I am sure that the law-abiding col t ored peoplo appreciate the masterly ' hand of the. recorder, with which he brings evil-doers to 'uMlce and weeds , out crime In the community. We feel safer under such circumstances, when we walk the streets and when we He down at night. We think It Is a debt that we owe to Mr. Shannon house to let him know that be has our moral support. For service ap- predated Is one of the richest re wards. : y , We know that the; recorder has performed his offlclul duties bravely end well, without any knowledge or perhaps thought of our moral sup- ' port, but we think that we should let him know that we appreciate his heroic endeavors to make this a ,ll 'law-abiding and prohibition city In deed, which does not only enhance the ivalue of property, but throws a safe J I guard around the moral and lellgious t life of the city. , HEV.
