Southern Railway announces that effective Saturday, June 15th, the in auguration of Pullman Drawing Room Sleeping car service between Charlotte and Norfolk. This car will be handled northbound on train No. 1 4, which leaves Charlotte at 6:40 p. m., and southbound o ntraln No. 33, which arrive at Charlotte at 10:80 a. m. These trains give passengers dining car service between Charlotte and Greensboro. In addition to this service the South ern Railway operates through Pull man cars between Asheville and Nor folk and New Orleans and Norf 61k, giving excellent service to and from the Jamestown Exposition. These things were that Belshazzar was (1) a pleasure seeker, (2), was thoughtless of God, (3) was leading nf f dehaupherv. f4 was a f mocker of God, (5) he had a sense of false security. Mr. Neighbour spoke impressively of all of these things and made the application to men and women 6"f the present day who are kept away from God by the same causes as those that k;pt Belshazzar away. He said that he brought this solemn message in order to warn and not to scare those In the congregation, but said that it is better for men and wo men to come to God through fear than not to come to Him at all, al though fear is not the highest mo tive from which to comhs. At the conclusion of the sermon several penitents came forward for prayer and remained for the after service. Before dismissing the congregation Mr. Neighbour stated that this meet ing is being held under the auspices of the several Baptist churches of the city, and said that he wanted to urge to Baptist converts to connect themselves with one of these churches. He said further that if any or the converts desired to loin other denominations names . would be given to the .pastors of th churches of their pref erence. To-night Mr. Neighbour will preach on Belshazzar's death, and his pres ence before the bar of Ood. Death of a Negro Who Was Well Thought of. j Special to The Observer. ! Pineville, June If .Lee Morrow, a highly respected colored man, died thla morning on Mr. W. M. Garrison s farm, where he has lived for a number of years. He was an industrious, peaceable, law-aMding ; citizen. He was above the average negro never having been arrested or Imprisoned and appreciated his white friends, which he numbered by the score.
