Iron Station, Jan. 15. A wedding of State-wide Interest was that at :Woodland." the beautiful country home of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Hein hardt two miles Xiom thin place, to day at 3:30 p. m., when MIm Matt Relnhardt became the bride of Mr. Frank Cooper, formerly , of Char lotte fcut now of Fayettevllle. The home was beautifully and artistically decorated for this Important occasion and presented a lovely appearance. The parlor, where the ceremony was performed by the bride's brother-in-law. Rev. J. A. Arndt, pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran church at Newton, wss decorated In violets and white, while in the dining room cream was the color "scheme, with he hall, and sitting; room in red. Many promi nent people from a distance, friends and relatives of the contracting par ties, were present, adding Importance to the event. Immediately preceding the cere mony Miss Ethel Foil, of Newton, sang most charmingly "The Dawn," and then MJas Ads. Cooper, sister of, the groom, played Mendelssohn's "Wedding March." during which the bridal party descended the staircase and took places in the parlor". First' came the ribbon girls. The groom came In on the arm of his Charlotte, and the bride with her cousin and maid of honor. Miss Lena Relnhardt, of Lincolnton. The couple met under a beautiful arch and bell and the words were spoken that united them as man and wife. The rltua was that of the Lutheran Church and the ring ceremony was employed. The bridal party made a scene of -much splendor, due o the striking beauty of the bride, maid of honor and bridesmaids. Mrs. Cooper is conceded to be one of Lincoln coun ty's most beautiful and lovely young women and In her bridal trousseau her beauty was greatly heightened. She was gowned in hand-embroidered liberty eilk and real lace and carried a huge shower bouquet of lilies of the valley. Her veil was caught up with a magnificent crescent of pearls and diamonds, the gift of the groom. The maid of honor wore a white lace robe over lavender taffeta and carried violets. The.j bridesmaids were attired In beautiful net dresses nvxr silk and r&rrleil ralma. violets and ferns. The marriage was preceded by the wedding feast, which was a most sumptuous one. In the old-fashioned , Southern style of hospitality, arl ' was greatly enjoyed by the guests. Last night the cutting of the bride's cake took place and waa the , occasion of much merriment. The lucky or unlucky persons to this event were: Clarence 8ml! h, ring; Kemp B. Nixon, of Llncofnton, but ton; Miss Lena Relnhardt, dime; Tom Sadler, thimble; , John Mc Donald, key. Mrs. Cooper Is a member of two of the best families of this part of the Mate the Itelnhardts. of this county, and 'the Wilsons, of Catawha. Her grandfather, Mr. Franklin Reln hardt, was a large manufacturer of iron and achieved a great reputation In this business. Her father. Mr. J. E. Relnhardt, is a large farmer and Is also largely Interested In cotton manufacturing, being president of the Elm Orove Cotton Manufacturing Company, of Lincolnton. Mr. Jack Relnhardt, State Senator, and Mr. R. H. Relnhardt, a cotton mill man of Lincolnton, are the bride's uncles. Mr. Cooper is a prominent young business man In the employ of Swift ft Co.
