Correspondence of The Observer. Washington. N. C. Jan. 41. A negro by the name of H. D. Green w arrested at th Norfolk Sc. South ern depot yesterday, cnarged -with the theft of a bale of cotton, a horse and a cart. Jt seems that Green lives near the town of jamesville, and he stole the cotton from a Jaminvllie farmer named Will Martin. After first securing the . cotton Green hid it in a field near Martin's house, and later on stole a horse and cart from the owner of the cotton in order to get it away. Not finding prcn high enough In Jamesville. Green shipped his bale of cotton over the Norfolk & Southern to tnla city, hoping to obtain better prices. One night tbls week the sawmill of Adolphus Shuford, situated ten miles from Morgann,ln Upper Creek "town ship, was blown up by dynamite orl some other explosive. The engine and boiler were wrecked, and the mill was completely demolished.
