AX APPEAL TO THE PRESBYTE RIAN OF MECKLENBURT PRE8BTTERY. The ladle of the auxiliary of the Presbyterian Hospital of Charlott make an earnest appeal to you in be half of a new Presbyterian hospital building. We base our appeal on the following considerations: 1. The present structure Is Inade quate to the neopssttles of the situa tion. Our city la growing and the need of a modern, commodious, well equipped fraltdlng has become imper ative. We are painfully handicapped In our efforts to maintain our hospital In the use of such an Indifferent build in and such scant equipment. Under existing conditions It Is simply Impos sible to secure the enthusiastic Inter est and support of our lady church members In hospital work. t. The failure V erect a suitable structure bring us Into unfavorable 'and humiliating comparison with ag gressive forces In city hosplta4 work. When the Episcopalian want a hos pital, they get It. When the Roman Catholics want a hospital, they build It. When a few enterprising physi cians and business men want a hos pital, they erect It. When we want honilrat what do we get? Let the orner,of West Trade and Mint street answer. 8. In our Judgment, the longer th erection of the new building I de layed, the greater will be our loss of prestige and Influence. About two year ago the question of a new bulld- in wss agitated. It was Intimated, If not alleged, that the movement was Initiated" In the Interest of a number of phyeiclsns of the city. In the Judg ment of all right-thinking, fair-minded persons this notion has been ex . pJoded. 4. We desire to show our love to the Saviour in the most effectual man ner. Jesus Is not here in bodily form. the beginning. Early In the year 1904, a loan of 32,600 was made. This has engaged room for June. The fame of Mr. J. W. BethelL the manager.
