Otherwise, the drug store would, come easily within the scope of the city and there would seem to be no obstacle to the filling of liquor prescription by It. .It Is situated on the North Chariotto r line, beyond the Highland Park Mills, about A quarter of a mile be yond) the,' outermost boundaries of Greater Charlotte. The apparent legality of the "cash ing" of liquor prescriptions by drug tores out Of the city but near enough to serve the resident of Charlotte, while such a privilege was clearly for bidden the drug store within the city. ha worried quite a number of peo ple, who regarded . this as arf un just and inequitable situation. Thoe who -are Interested in having the lid screwed down absolutely air tight have been working hard and long to stop the leak. ,The culmination of the matter will be warched with in terest. It will undoubtedly haxe its bearings In soma, way on the ques tion of licenses within the city, prob ably helping to bring. the matter to a head whenever It' show any such disposition whatever. That its policy has met with univer sal favor is shown in the startling trowth of the enterprise. From two horses, one wagon, a few circus odds ana enas, energy and pluck, the little aggregation matured into a circus giam. me story of Its growth seems almost a fairy tale. In five and twenty years the Ringllngs have advanced irom rarmer-boy showmen to kings 01 me circus world. Always progressive and extrava gant, the quintette of brothers has this year gone to greater lengths than ever before, adding feats and features new to America, and enlarging the show In every department until now six special trains are required for Its transporting from place to place. From France have come the Patty brothers, one of whom turns "unslde down" and while In this position ascends and descends stairs on his head with as much ease as were the stunt being performed In natural position. For those cravlnv emotional sensa tion has been provided a thriller that out-tbrllls any act of daring since the first day of time. Down a precl-plce-llke track, a huse auto car Is' driven by Mile. When within a few feet of the Incline's end the machine leaps into space and ascends. rocket-like, sixty, aevenjy. eighty feet, then dips and whirls over twice be fore dashing to earth and spending Its mad race unon the hippodrome track. This is In no way similar to the thrillers of past seasons, being the one single Instance In history wher two complete revolutions of an automobile in mid-air has been ac complished or attempted. The street parade will leaVea the show grounds on show day mornlnir at 10 o'efock. New York's Famous All-Star Quar- tette to Appear at Coining Music Festival Best Critics Cla Quar tette aa Best on American Concert " Platform. One of the very best, if not th best features of the coming Music Festival will be the appearance of the "New York All-Star Quartets. This Jamous quartette is composed of the following well-known singers: Mlsi Pearl Benedict, contralto; Mr. Cecil James, tenor; Mr. Frank Craxton, basso, and Miss Caroline Hudson, so prano. The best musical critics of America have ranked this quartette the best in the country, and certain ly the lavish praise heaped upon each of the members by the press In all the larger cities where they have appeared Justifies this distinction. 11 is sare to say there is not a better quartette on the American stage to-day, and music-lovers of this city and State have indeed a rare treat in store for them. Miss Caroline Hudson has recently returned from a tour of foreign coun tries where, with her wonderful so prano voice, she achieved success not often enjoyed by American singers. Her appearance with the New York Oratorio Society, under Dr. Frank Damrosch, was crowned with equal ucceaa Mr. Cecil James has appeared at many of the greatest musical events of the country, and for years has been connected with the largest musical or ganisations of America. His career has been on of unusually brilliant at tainment Charlotte music-lovers have not had the opportunity to hear a better tenor1 than Mr. James. Mis Pearl Benedict, contralto, is known throughout the music world and classed as one of th very best contraltos in America. She waa signally fortunate in her training un der the world' best music masters and her record before the public has been one of remarkable success. Mr. Frank Craxton Is universally known aa a musical critic. His writ ings and criticisms have appeared In many of th largest muale Journals of the world. Aside from the note Mr. Craxton achieved, howevef, as a musical critic, hi fame as th beat basso on the American platform has been heralded the country over. Those who fall to hear this quartette will have missed one of the best treats ever offered in the South. The members will appear a number of times In popular numbers on the programme.
