'Wife's Scream Brought Police The outcries of his well-dresaed. light complexioned wife, brought th police to the residence of Thomaa Crawford, colored, on West Morehead street, last night. Both were taken to the police station, the man being held and the woman summoned as a wit ness. The wife came here from Chica go some time ago. "Your mothor knows you're in here," she said to her husband, who was on the inside look ing out. "You hit me ao hard that last time that I had to holler. 'You know I didn't have you arrested. The ultimate capture of the ne gro who entered the home of Mr. and Mrs. B. F. Kaufmann on Seventh street Saturday morning remains a matter of grave doubt. It has de veloped that a negro man answer ing substantially the description giv en of the culprit that morning went to the front doors of the homes of a number of families living in that vi cinity. At one place, after being told that the husband was away and be ing aaked his business he. inquired as to whether any painting was deaired done.
