Messrs. McCauley & Kelly, stock men of Sanford, spent Sunday in Lillington. Deputies McArtan and Hockaday spent Monday in Angier collecting taxes. Mr. E. F. Young, an attorney of Dunn, paid Lillington a professional visit Monday. Sheriff Turlington spent Saturday in Dunn on official business and went from Dunn to his home in Coats to be with his family Sunday. Lieut. Johnson returned from the northern markets Wednes day morning and reports splendid sue cess in a large line of purchases. Mr. J. W. Senter, of Kipling, paid Lillington a call during the week. Mr. A. G. Wilder, from Camp Eus- tis, son of Mr J. L. Wilder, on Rout 1, has returned home. Mr. Joe Caviness, recently dis charged from army service overseas, has entered Trinity College to take up the study of law. Mr. Neill Sal mon, another Lillington young man who entered army servire and was re cently discharged, is specializing in law at Trinity. Mr. John McArtan, of Linden, was a visitor in Lillington during the week. Mr. Washburn, pastor of Presby terian churches in Dunn and Linden, spent a while in Lillington the past week. Mr. J. M. Shaw spent last Sunday with his mother at Lemon Springs. Ex-Sheriff C. McArtan, father of DeDuty Sheriff Will McArtan, has been on the sick list for the past sev eral days. Miss Madrid Hood of Dunn visited Miss Frances Salmon during' the past week. Messrs. A. C. Ormand and A. C Bridgeman, who have spent severa days in Lillington and Harnett Coun ty in the interest of Flora McDonald College, went over to Sanford Wed nesday. Miss Nellie Glenn and Mr. Eugene Glenn of Durham are visiting Miss Erne Davis in Lillington. Mr. William McLauchlin, brother of Mr. Neill McLauchlin of Lillington spent a few days in town the past week. He has just been discharged at Chickamauea, having returned from overseas service. Mr. McLauchlin is one of those dis ciples of action who never let their muscles grow soft: Immediately up on his release from army life, he ac ce'pted the responsible position of su nerintendent of construction and maintenance for the Columbia (S.C.)
