He proceeded to call his committee together and issued an ouster against Mr. Parker. (What tHinltols for sale at The News office. sort of form such an ouster could take will be something now in pjli- tics to most people.' Tliroe men were nominated by the Harnett county voters for members of the Boui’d of .Education. In coiirae. thei;' names were to be pre- .sented to the General Assembly in what is commonly known as the “Omuilnis Bill” for ratification. But after tho lUMnlnations, before the eonfirmations, it norated around that one of jiominecs boro a grudge against the then superintendent of Harnett’s schools, the late Byrd P. Gentry. Some of (he party lieads got togothe.- .tnd declared that l)ofo:e they would allow the legislature to ratify the anti-Geiitry-lte to become a full- fledged member of the Harnett Board of Education they would l)Jock his confinnalion by the Gen eral .\ssembly. It so tnniod oitt that the report of opposition to Mr. Gentry was only a rumor, and the "Omnibus Bill" carried all three names of the men nomiiinied by the voters In Harnett’s Itriinary, It appears that the storm petrel in Johnston is also the county su perintendent of schools. There are some who want to oust Superindent H, B. .Morrow, and they can think of no better way to accomplish their inirposo than by "fixing" the Board of Education. The people of Johnston have be come a loused, according to th« Herald, which has a vory commend able habit of reporting matters and tilings very accurately. 'The Herald itself seems to be aroused along with the folks who put Mr. Parker on tlio Board of Education by virtue Patience does not mean indiffer ence. We may work and trust and wait, but we ought not to be idle or careless while waiting.—Gall Hamilton. LYRIC THEATRE—LILLINGTON, N.
