Most of the decorations on the tree were made by a group of patients who were instructed by Mrs. Peggy Mclamb, physio therapist for the home. They rendered many lovely selections, then led the group in singing Christmas carols. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Boone, owners and operators of Pine- crest, welcomed the guests, and Mrs. John Mason, who with her husband formerly operated the home, gave a warm greeting. She spoke of the love and sincere interest she had for the residents then and now, and how fortunate she was to be able to pass the home into the capable hands of her daughter Janet and son-in-law Joe. The group was invited to the dining room where a table was laden with many pa^ dainties, which were enjoyed with Christ mas punch served from a huge silver bowl. The employees of the home, who were introduced by Mr. Boone, assisted with arrange ments and set^g. BRIDGE PARTY Among the many Christmas parties during the holidays was the Dessert Bridge party given by Mrs. John Womble and Mrs. Joe Goorlay last week at the Womble home on Eleventh Street. Traditional Christmas greens, red berries and candles, burn ing hurricane lamps created a cheerful atmosphere for the afternoon of bridge. Four bridge tables covered with white linen doths with red napkins and centered with a lighted candle, were arranged for a delicious dessert and coffee. Guests were served on arrival, and during play punch was enjoyed. Each player was pTMcnted with a red camellia by the iK^esses. ■ • 'At'the'conclusion of several progressions, tallies were gathered and a game of bingo followed. Prizes were awarded to Miss Marie Bradsher, Mrs. Iva Sloan, Mrs. Qiff Ammons, and Mrs. Dan Moses. PERSONALS Mr. and Mrs. Sonny (Carl 4th) Baickman and son Carl of Virginia Beach, Mr. and Mrs. Steve Adco^ and children of Corinth, Mrs. S.S. Adcock, mother and grandsons Will, Danny, and Micheal of Rocky Mount visited their mother and grandmother during the holi days. Mr. and Mrs. W.H. A small informal reception followed the ceremony In the Church Parlor. The couple will make their home In Cary. Those attending the wedding from Liliington were bis parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.T. Long, his grandmother. Mre. Laura Green Long, his unde and family, the Bobby Longs, Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Johnson, and Mr. and Mrs. Norwood Butts. His sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Terry Manahan of Green ville, S.C., were there and Terry was best man. PERSONALS During the holidays, the out-of-town children of Mr. and Mrs. Neil] Alec Stewart, coming home were Mr. and Mk, Nicky Stewart and Miss Dianne Stewart, Raleigh; Ms. Marion Pleasant and MeUssa and Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Brown; his mother, Mr.s. Lewis Sr., who had been spending several days prior to Christmas with the Bradleys, returned with Mayor Lewis tas^ week. hfiss Sue Ross, Assistant Dean of Students at Davidson College, spent Christmas here with her patents, Mr. and Mrs. C. Reid Ross. On Wednesday, she jetted to New York CHy where she visited friends prior to her return to her duties at Davidson. Meredith Senter Jr. an attorney in Washington, D.C. and Max Senter, stu^t at UNC-Chapei Hill, join^ their parents and brother Micheal for the holidays. Micheal and Max were among the many North Carolinians attending the Tangerine Bowl. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Goorlay of New Bern spent several days during Christmas week with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Gourlay. Mr. and Mrs. Pete Long and family of Fayetteville and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Long of Cbnway, S.C. spent the holidays with their mother, Mrs. J.M. Long of 1202 Main St. Mr. and Mrs. Russ Beabout and children have returned to their home in Rocky Mount after visiting with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thelbert Dean.
