Cool Spring Ntw. Mr Alex Wilson, who has been veiy ill at the home of his cousin, Mr J J Pugh, for some time is not im proving very much. Mr Seal Martin, purchased a new engine boiler last week for his saw mill which is in operation near this place. Mrs W H McDaniel and little Sranddanghter spent last Wednes ay Mr J T Hayes, at Millboro. Mr v H Routh is erecting a new residence near the Allred mine and will moue some time soon. Messrs J S Wilkerson and A D Lineberry made a business trip to Greensboro lost Wednesday and re turned Thursday. Mr C H Walker, of near Worth yille, visited relatives in the com munity last Sunday. Mrs John Curtis and little daugh ter, Dorothy, of Liberty visited her parents. Mr ana Mr and Mrs O M Jones, last week, was confined to Ms room several days the past and this week with an attack of pleurisy. Mr and Mrs Everett Ferree visit ed the parents of the ktler Saturday and Sunday, Mr Ambrose Thomas, ef Chatham, visited her Saturday and Sunday. Mrs Reynolds returned Friday last from a pleasant visit to her parents near Climax. Rev Rufus King, of Archdale, preached in the Holiness Church Sunday night to an interesting con gregation. Rev Dr J B Richardson, of High Point, filled his pulpit in the Bap- j tist Church Sunday, preaching his i usual powerful and convincing sermons. The Board of Education, of Ran dolph county, met at the court house Monday for the purpose of distributing to the schools the por tion appropriated to Randolph from the second $100,000 by the state. Among those who visited our city last week we noticed Mr Benj Moffitt, of Asheboro, Rev W M Cur tis, of Greensboro, Air W S Russell, of Gnlt, and Mr H W Jackson, of Raleigh. Mr Ervin Shields has moved his family to Cedar Falls. Mr James Lutterloh spent Sundav in the city with relatives and friends. He has accepted a position as travelling salesman for Pearl Roller Mills at Randleman. Miss Susan Chandler went to Greensboro one day last week. Mr John Foust, of Randleman, spent Saturday night and Sunday in town. Mr E A Routh made a business trip to Cameron one day last week in the interest of Franklinsville Roller Mills. Quite a large crowd attended the oyster supper given by the Ladies Aid Society at the academy Satur day night. Mr Fete Allred has improved the appearance of Mr Bascom Ox's residence near the depot and the warp mill room of Franklinsville Manufacturing Company by putting on a nice coat of paint: Deputv sheriff Marley, of Ashe boro, was in town Monday. The Sunday schools at this place are growing in number acd interest We have two good schools, one at the M E Chnrch and the other at the Baptist. From Suggs Creek. Miss Flora Sugg is a guest of her brother, J S Sugg. Miss Avey Holt is visiting Mrs Holt at Asbury. Mr George R C Freeman has Eurchased a new lot of goods which e will soon put on the market here. Rev Mr Ware living near Sugg Creek died a few days ago. He had just disposed of some property to some mining prospectors for which they paid $3,000. We regret to chronicle the death of anSnfant of Mr and Mra Boone, which occurred last week. Mr J C Cornelisop, our clever merchant of near Sugg Creek, is do ing a good buiness. Mrs Dora Graves, and daughter are visiting Mr Daniel Boon. Measles is prevalent in this com munity, Several schools have been compelled to close on account of it. Rameeur Heme. Miss Fannie Buie, of Franklins ville, spent Saturday and Sunday with her friend, Miss Mary Cope land. Mr and Mrs C B Smith have a very intelligent specimen of the cat tribe.
