O.i oi'tha gentlemen observed that the Railroad from Rutherfordton would be extvnl-d to Cranberry instead of Ashe-viJl-j and that the A. aDd S. STATE NEWS. The Home Demorrrt says: On Wednesday, the young white man, J ethro Arnold, from Stanley coun ty, was convicted of robbing the mail and sentenced to three years in the Albany Penitentiary. He is 18 years old. " The Salisbury Watchman says: The engine that was thrown from the track into forty foot water in the French Broad, near Warm Springs, .i few weeks ago, has been raised, put on the track and is now in the car shops here for repairs. It was not damaged a ereut deal. The Methodist church at this place raises more money in a year, ir all purposes ' m proportion to membership or per capita than any ether station belonging to the North Carolina Conference, with the ex ception of Front Street, Wilmington, ;tnd Durham. The Ncics-Observer says: Last eve ning, at Haw River, Mr. C. Bruce Wright, of Wilmington, was united in marriage to Miss Ella M. Holt, daughter of Col. Thomas" M. Holt. ! Mr. Wright was here yesterday on his way to Haw River! With him were several ofhis groomsmen. Yesterday a hogshead of tobacco from Swain co. was sold here, at the J Fatmers'. It was the first tobacco -ver sold here from a point beyond t lie Blue Ridge. It realized hand j Mime prices. The 'Bugle says : We learn that a c;tr passed down last week with 12.000 hogs and sheep and one forth f a car ol turkeys, mostly from Tennessee. (We lancy that a tra n, not a car, wa3 meant. One day last week, -a train fif 55 cars passed Asbeville loaded with hogs and sheep,-doubt- less what is referred to by the Bugle. Citizen.) We learn, says the Dallas Current that a moody ngnt tooit place at 'Lowell last Saturday in which at least five were badly injured, be ing cut up with knives so that three are confined to their beds. .We have not learned the names of the . parties in the affair. . The trial was to have taken ' place yesterday at McAdensville, but- was postponed. A Voice from Providence, Il I For twenty years I have been afflicted with a d.-eadful Blood poison, and during all those Years I have had the best medi.-al advice in the c runtry, the physiciani preu-ribing the only remedies known, sucn aa mercury and Iodide of Potassium, all to n j purpose. I was six moiithe in Bellevue Hospital, and became so ad that I despaired of getting well. I then through advice, went. to Europe and tried some of the best physicians there with the same re? salts, and returned again to this country. Finally I went to New Orleans, being told that French doctors understood the treatment of my case better, and perhaps could enre me. Alas, however, after taking more mercury and potassium from them, I became so much worse I gave up to die. So bad had I become that I was a sight to behold. I had large ulcers - all ores my body and face. There were holes in my legs that you" could put a hens egg in, clear down to the bone. A number of pieces of bone came out at my ankle, and now I carry the scars on ray face and body of the fright ful character of this disease. I then came back to Providence, and by chance got hold of paper with the advertisement of Swift's Epe viue in it of a wonderful cure. As a last hope 4 thought I would try It. Thanks be to God, I can say to day that I am peri ectly cured, hav ing taken medicine about three months. , Up totaenresent data no 'svmtoms of the disease have returned, and I feel aa before I was poison ed. I hare nothing but two scars to show that L was ever afflicted. I consider 8, 8. S," the best and only remedy to positively cure blood poiHon, and I honostly recommend it to all M-1..K M .'A .
