" A PIOHT IN TH HOUSE. There was a lively scene iq the Hourt when the election of magistrates was in progress. The lists submitted by the committee were printed. Mr. Pearson offered a list as a substitute for the Bun combe lint. This was accepted, and the previous question was ordered. The re publicans were foiled in their schemes to change the list. - They had been instruc ted (in caucus) in such an event to refrain from voting. Very few voted. The vote was on the printed list and Pearson's list. The latter failed. The printed list was adopted. It was a bad knock-out for Pearson. He raised aa awful row about the matter Saturday night, 'and declared that the election must be held over again. He was plainly told that was im possible; it was a joint election and the tellers had reported. The majority for the printed list was 20. OTHER MAGISTRATES FOR THE WEST.
