The State Convention Occurs From
April 26 to 29.
Everything is in readiness for the
Christian ndeav'or Sitate convention to
be held in Raleigh next week. April 26
29, and evey indication is that this -will
be in every way an, interesting and
helpful convention.
It was my privilege to be in Raleigh
last week in the interest of the conven
tion . Many of the merchants, all whom
I had time to see, willingly consented
to use the Christian Endeavor state col
ors in 'the decoration of their places of
business during the convention so we
look for an elaborate display of green,
yellow and white during those days.
Rev. Dr. Ivey of Raleigh, and otheT
Bpeakers have been added to the list of
t'hose who will take part in the program.
The "Quiet houT' prayer meeting on
Sunday morning will be held with the
Prison C. E. society at the penitentia
ry. Let us have a large attendance at

ROBERT LYTLE DEAD
His Body Found in Cherokee County
Indians Arrested cn Suspicion
It was learned from a brother of the
deceased who was in the city Thurs
day that Rovert Lytle, of Fairview,
was killed several days ago. He was
in the logging business near the Ten
nessee line. It was known that he
was on his way home for a visit, rid
ing horseback. Some persons found a
horse grazing with a saddle on near
the Cherokee county line, and on fur
ther search found the dead body ,of
Lytle lying hidden in a thicket with
brush piled over him. His clothing
was all gone. He had about $300 in
money, a gold watch and two revolv
ers when he started. Two Inuians
have been arrested on suspicion.
It is said that the deed was commi'tteu
by men at the camp, who knew Lytle
started out with this money, and that
they are arousing suspicion against the
Indians to divert it tfr rn themselves .
