A building committee has teen ap pointed and will proceed at once to the work of erecting the Mars Hill tab ernacle It is the purpose to have it ready for the meeting of the conference of Christian "Workers The tabernacle is to be built by the Chautauqua It will seat over a thousand people as planned It is to be 60x80 feet, rustic finish and must be completed by July 25 The deaf and dumb institute at Mor ganton ibroke up "Wednesday, and a number of the pupils came as far as Salisbury yesterday morning, where they parted, some to the east, some to the wrest Several came this way In the number a boy about seven years old, a mute, who was tagged, "To Geo. "Wilson," and numbered "380." After the trains had gone the boy was found in the waiting room. He could not write nor talk, and Policeman Tor rence had no way of knowing to whom he belonged or where he was to go. He caught sight of the tag, "To Geo. "Wilson." This, he thought the solu tion of the problem. He proceeded to take the boy "to George "Wilson" Mr. George E. "Wilson. He rang the bell, and Mrs. Mary Wilson, Mr. "Wilson's mother, went to the door. There was the policeman and tne boy. The form er explained that he found the boy at the station tagged and he sup posed he belonged there. Mrs. Wilson called Mr. Wilson and the other members of the familv. They looked at the boy and the boy looked at them. Who was he where did he come from where was he to go? The questions were asked but never answered. Mr. Wilson felt very much like the man in Wang, who had the elephant on his hands. He told the policeman to leave the little fellow there, and that he would take care of him until he could find out where he belonged. He wired the deaf and dumb institute at Morganton that a little mute from the institution had drifted to his house, and asked where ! he belonged. In the afternoon he re ceived an answer that the boy was to go to Hornet, Mecklenburg county, to his uncle, Jackson Wilson. Mr. Wilson wrote Mr. Jackson Wilson that the bov was at his house, and would be cared for until he could send for him. Char lotte News. Shave and Hair Cut. McPhun entered the club a few morn ings aeo. his chin and cheeks nlainlv showing that he was freshly emancipated trom the bands of the barber. "Been having a shave, old man?" ask ed MacKan lazily. "Yes, and had my hair cut too." was the reply. "Always have my hair cut when I have a shave." "And how often do vou get shaved?" was the languid inquiry. Every morning," answered McPhun. "And have your hair cut. too. everv day?" said the other. "Yes." "Don't you find it rather expensive?" "No. Only costs twopence." "What? Only twopence for a shave and haircutting?" 'That s all. Barber couldn't shave mp without ' cutting my hair, don't von know." London Telegraph. WOULD NOT SUFFER SO AGAIN FOR FIFTY TIMES ITS PRICE. I awoke last night with severe pains in my stomach. A girl admires a fast young man that is, providing sne has him so fast he can't possibly get away. Last fall I sprained my left hip while handling' some heavv boxes. The doctor I called on said at first it was a slightJ strain and would soon be well, but it! grew worse and the doctor then said I had rheumatism. It continued to grow worse and I could hardly get around to work. I went to a drug store and the druggist recommended me to try Chamberlain's Pain Balm. I tried it and one-half of a 50-cent bottle cured me entirely. I now recommend it to all my friends. F. A. Babcock, 'Erie Pa. It is for sale by C. A. Raysor. SPECIAL EXCURSION RATES.
