The Asheville Light Infantry drilled last night, and after the drill decided to participate in the sham battle at Look out park on the afternoon of July 4th with the Blue Ride Rifles, provided the business houses will close, and an effort will be made to get all houses to close for the day. Mr. S. E. Ward, who is in the city, reports that be has just completed the construction of a portable saw mill on Beaver Dam creek in Haywood county for the firm of Cummings & Murray. Mr. Ward says that Haywood county, although democratic, will give a ma jority against the adoption of the pro posed amendment. Blue Ridge Lodge No. 205 I. O. O. P. held its semi-annual election of officers last evening, which resulted as fol lows: W. P. Powell, noble grand; Eu gene C Sawyer, vice grand; Chas. J. Rice, recording secretary; L. R.
