The report of the committee named by the Asheville P.ar association was handed to Judge Justice in Superior court Saturday when recommenda tion was made that many Vases on the civil docket be stricken off. The court after the reading of the report and discussions by lawyers present dis missed 14" cases from the docket. Dr. C. P. AmMer. one of the well known physicians of the city, is pre paring to build a modern office build ing on North Main street, on the lot adjoining the Hillside convent. The building will be constructed especially as an office for Dr. Ambler and will be occupied exclusively by him. It will be two stories high, with four rooms. Plans have been drawn for metal document lile cases for the clerk of the United States courts here and requisition has been made on the gov ernment for these cases. Clerk Hy- ams says that he Is badly in need of new document file cases as the present ones are insufficient to care in a proper manner for the large amount of business in the clerk's office. The plans cull for the most modern de vices for filing and will be a gnat addition to the otherwise splendidly and handsomely furnished office in the government building. Arrangements have been completed for the entertainment here of a party of 300 to 400 girls of Radnor college at Nashville. The party, traveling on a special train will arrive here at S:,10 o'clock Tuesday, June 21. from Salisbury and will remain here until 4 o'clock that afternoon, when they will return to Nashville. The party Is on its annual tour to points of interest In the country. While at Asheville the party, it is arranged, will take a drive about the city, and over the Uiitmore estate. N. A. Harrison, in the employ of II. L. l-'inkelstein's pawn shop, acci dentally shot himself in the leg with a .32 calibre pistol Saturday. It seems that Mr. Harrison hail taken the pis tol from a case for the purpose of nawng 11 repaireu; tne weapon was loaded and while carrying It to the rear of the store it fired, the bullet en tering the fleshy part of the leg. struck the bone, glanced off and ploughed Its way down the front lodging in the flesh. The injured man was taken to Dr. Meriwether's hospital where the bullet was extracted and .Mr. Harrison was then takeu to his home.
