H. Clark and Mine Lurle Ramsey u married to J. W. Young. Rev. t T. Hltt performed the ceremonies In the presence of Mrs. McManaway, a sister of the brides, and Mr. Jordan, these two' being the only ones -who knew of the intentions of the young . people. The two young brides are sisters, aged II and IS respectively and the young men have been close - friends for many years. It was ex- pected by the ..close friends of the . contracting parties that the ceremo nies would take place at some future , date but the sudden maturing of the plans was entirely unexpected. The young people had gone for a walk and It was suggested that they stop In at ! the parsonage and marry. The sug- - gestlon was followed up and the cer emonies were performed, a - short while afterwards. Mrs. . Clark and Mrs. Young are the daughters of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Ramsey of 148 French Broad avenue and have a host of . friends In the city. Mr. Clark Is a contractor here and Mr. Young holds a position with the J. K. Rich Plumb ing company. Both are well and fa vorauly known' throughout the city. Mr. and Mrs. Clark will make their home, for the present on Asheland avenue and Mr. and Mrs. "Young will : reside on Bouth Liberty street. . The Battery Park ballroom was packed Saturday evening on occasion of the recital given by Mrs. Hardin Burnley, Mrs. Burnley had been " heralded to those who did not know her as a finished artist In child and negro Impersonations, and none were disappointed In the evening enter ' talnment, for the Impersonator was at her best and the numbers she pre sented' were excellent The recital was for the benefit of the city a P. MQUNTAIH HOTEL IS TO BE BUILT Mr. Grove ; Announces Thai Work Is to Begin Soon , Site Not Chosen. INCLINED RAILWAY ALSO DECIDED UPON Boulevard Along the Crest of tlic Mountain, Huulsomo - Cottages, . Walks, Grottoes, Etc. It was stated today on reliable In formation that within 30 days ground would be broken for the erection of a new hotel near Asheyllle. The new hotel will be built by E. W. Grove, owner of Grove's park, and will be located somewhere along the moun tain east of the city, either on Sun set mountain or near that magnlAcen site. The .hotel, It is said, will bi modern In every respect and a num ber of cottages will be: built In clow proximity to the hotel' to accommo date those desiring to spend a seasot on the mountain top. In connection with the statemen that a new hotel would be erectec his year and made ready for the ac commodation of guests next season it was stated that the exact spot for the hotel had not been decided on. II fact It Is said that Mr. Grove, whi has done so much for the Improve ment of Asheville, has not yet decld od . whether he will make Sunse mountain a publlo resort place, dedl ated to Asheville, and locate his ho tel further down the mountain, or se lect the Sunset mountain site for thi hotel. Incidentally, however, this wli: be decided within a few. days and work on the new hotel will begin. Whether the new hotel will be lo cated on Sunset mountain or south if the high point will not lnterfer with Mr. Grove s plans to make the ilace one of the most attractive In al t western North Carolina. It b olanned to have a 100-foot boulevard built along the crest of the mountair from the Sunset mountain to Towr mountain, with wide walks, summei houses, vine-covered stopping places. tc.
