LATEST HITS in SHEET MUSIC 15c at DUNHAM'S Music House In the convention of the North Carolina nKrlcultural demonstrator?. the reports from the various counties continues to take up most of the time. The demonstrators began their reports Wednesday mornins and with the ex ception of one or two addresses they continued until today at noon. These reports are of an informal nature and consist of the experiences of the deml onstratnrs in getting the farmers to adopt their methods and other prob lems which confront them. Mowt of them show that much progress has been made and that the farmers hrnive realized that the demonstrator has suggestions of value to offer. It ap pears that some ot I hem, however have some difficulty in getting the larmers to use the improved method?, but where they once get a start, thev seldom have any mure trouble of this nature. At the morning meeting there was expresse.l liy some of the demonstra tors the fear that if they Improved the methods to any great extent, the farm ers would produce more than would be needed but this did not appear to be taken very seriously. Mecklenburg and Alexander. Among those who have made their reports was Air. Clark, of Meeklen- burg. who is employed for all his time. He Is the only county demon strator in the state who gives all hit lime to the work, althoughl It was shown that Mr. Lucas of Alexander ulthough paid for only half his time devoted nearly all of it to the worl'. Mr. l.ucas called attention to the fact thai he had over 100 assistant demon strators and co-operators and sale that the reason his county anthoritle: did not co-operate more with him was because the county had a boss. Mr. Peale of Hoke county made an interesting talk this morning, telling of the difficulty of getting the Scotch men of his county to take to his meth ods and how he had overcome this. f.acn ot the demonstrators wa? questioned and these questions showed that they are aill interested In learning w;iat they can from each other. Another excellent talk wag made by Newton Jones of Rutherford county ho had some Interesting things to relate of the methods of corn raising in his county. It was stated by the demonstrator from Guilford that there would not be more than half a, crop of corn In that county. This afternoon the demonstratorr take a trip over the Blltmore estate nd tonight they hold another meet- ng. There is some likelihood of fin ishing the work of the convention to- ight but if it is not finished another 111 be held in the morning. At last night's meeting, in addition i the reports of the demonstrators. O. B. Martin of Washington delivered talk on the boys' clubs.
