Although it is the view of President
Woodrow Wilson that this is not the
accepted time for the' United States
to consider wars, rumors of wars, or
the country's preparedness for war,
Representative A. P, Gardner of the
Sixth Massachusetts district thinks
otherwise. Since introducing his res

mission to investigate the prepared
ness of the United States for war, he
has instituted a campaign over the
entire country to secure endorsement
for the measure.
The Ashevllle board of trade has
received a copy of the resolution, to

which it is asked to subscribe its
name and then send the completed
resolution to the North Carolina sena

It is stated that many organizations
throughout the country have already
passed favorably on this resolution.
It is likely that the local organization
will take it under advisement at an
early meeting.
