The city commissioners yesterday afternoon announced that an option had been secured by the city on the Bee Tree watershed whereby the com pany offers to sell to the city for $30, 000 the land that the city has desired fore sometime. The commissioners passed resolutions yesterday after noon, naming June 21, as the day on which the matter Will be brought U; and some decision made as to the con sideration of a $50,000 bond issue for the purchase of the lands. All citizens and organizations will be heard on this date and it is desired that as many citizens as possible appear be fore the board and express their views on the matter of the bond Issue. The last general assembly author ized the city of Asheville to issue bonds in the sum of $50,000 for the purpose of buying the watershed if It was found to be desirable. The board of aldermen had this matter up for sometime but all the negotiations fell through, the Bee Tree Lumber company and the city fathers failing to agree on the price. Com missioner of Public Works James G. Stikeleather has been able to secure an option for $30,000 on this prop erty that heretofore has only been of fered to the city at a price said to have been $35,000. The resolutions as passed by the commissioners yesterday follow: "Concerning the purchase of the lands of the Bee Tree Lumber com pany on the Swannanoa 'river, con taining about 5.500 acres, for the pur pose of improving, enlarging and pro viding a necessary additional s'toply of water for the city of Asheville- "Whereas, the board of commis sioners of the city of Asheville recog nize the urgent and imperative dvity of providing an additional and 'nr'r supply of water for the present neces sary and adequate use of the p?"p"o of the city of Asheville. as well ns providing the same with a view to the growth and progress of said city, and, "Whereas, James O.
