This region is not heavily timbered ; still, there are a large variety of trees, among which are the most that abound with ourselves. The cotton wood tree is abundant upon the rivers. The climate is very dry, and yet we hear of no complaints of drought. Fremont in giving an account of Ihe weather, has recorded sixteen j clear days in the summer in succession, which is a record that could be hardly made of any New England weather Cut what is to be Ihe future of Nebraska? If it teem with life now, it is the life of wild animals, wild Indians, wild flowers, wild vegetation of all kinds. There are reptiles in abundance, and musquitoes that ihe traveller has a powerful knowl edge of. There are now magnificent rivers, j oceans of unoccupied land, great deserts, a whole territory, a wide waste. But all this is soon to be changed. Steamers are to fly over her waters, and the cars over her lands. Instead of the red men. shall be the white 1 men, instead of the wild, domestic animals. The hum of the spindle shall be heard upon her water fnlls. From Nebraska shall spring Nebraska and ! We have six or seven thousand dollars in notes ar.d accounts din1 us, and with a large subscription, a fine lii of advertising and a reasonable nhara of Job work, we cannot by pri vate dunni.ig, and all olhe'r agencies, collect ten dollars a week, on an average. We have not up to ihe hour are wrile this been able to collect one dollar in a week ! We wish lhat the noble, honest Jito w ho pay promptly, could pass this article without reading. They do not deserve to be an noyed wi;h duns intended for others. But I hose particularly, who are, able, and yet withhold from year to year frorn us our honest dues, they deserve to be daily and nightly tormented with duns and blue devils, until their consciences commence ac ting, and n heling of honesty b' gins to creep over I hem. Fellow-sufferers, what is to he done?
