Whv should legislators even hesitate in rec tifying a wrong, in correcting an evil, in performing a simple act of justic? ; The merchants tax on purchases is wrong, , That is plain. If wrong then ' It should ", be remedied. The only way to remedy is to remove It. The merchants will fight it and they ought to do it. Cunningham, of Cunningham, Person county, the largest tobacco planter in the world, says the tobacco crop on the whole in that coun tia better than ever before known in the history of tl e oldest inhabitant, and the far mers are in better condition than they have been for a num ber of years before.
