Percentage of convictions for the Jnonth reached 87.14. a good figure. . Drunks are a the increase, ac cording to the Chief of Police. Convictions total 29S for a percentage of 87.64. Fines for the month totaled $1,154. 50 and sentences to pall, handja down totaled twelve years, nine months " Seven felony and eight misde meanor ca-es are still pending. Devin, of Oxford, holding Superior Court, civil session in Orange County, at Hillsboro Fri day afternoon, granted a temporary Injunction to voters of the Shambley chool district who opposed the re cent bon.l election that district for the Shambley school with the West Durham school. JUdge De.tn on Friday set a hear ing to be held September 19 during the civil session of Superior Court .which Is scheduled to ope i here Sep tember 17. The injunction restrains the County Board or any represen tatives from . collecting any special .'tax which may be levied as a result of the election. It names as defendants members of the county school board.
