The an nouncement of a ca -e of" yellow fever iu Morg in City, La., on the line oi the Southern Pac tivi Railroad be tween New Orleans and Housiou, re sulted to !ay ia Texas igun putting on its prohibition against the state of Louisiua, There iiave been rumors for a week of accounts of $ ellow fever at Morgan City, which wtre denied and as a matter of lact the case develop: d only yesterday. A family of iu lian refugees from the iafected district in New Orleans were detained by the Morgan City health omciais and kept isolated under guard. As feared one of them developed an unques tioned ease of lellosv fever yester day. Mississippi has a quarantine, but will allow persons who have speat five days in the United S;atts de tention camps tu enter the slate. Alabama has quarantined against all Louisiana, that is the state officials have done so, although the law re quires a proclamat on from the gov ernor to make the quarantine e! fective and no such proclamation has been issued. Arkausas, which has taken no ac tion here-otore in the fever situation, has finally quarantined through its state board of health against all in fested p ints in Louisiana. As the board is without funds the state militia will be used for quarantine guards. What has confused ithe situation Is that in addition to the state quarantines, every county and town has a special quarantine of its own, in all cases different. In Mississippi the quarantine epidemic is milder today. Laurel has taken off its quarantine against the world and Natchez has asked to be allowed to do so. Jackson will also adopt milder measures On the other hand Buena Vi3ta has sealed itself up hermetically. At Port J hands shall have full exercise.
