The Weekly Argus goes to its many readers today in new form
printed from one of the largest and best newspaper presses in the
State, which has recently been installed in this office at great cost,
and is to be supplemented soon by the most modern type-setting
machine in service, that will render the Argus office the most com
pletely equipped in the South, and will enable the editor to give to
his patrons a paper every week that is up to his desire and that they
can rely upon to give them all the news fit for their families to read.

Of course all these improvements come at great expense to us,
and we therefore earnestly appeal, here and now, to every reader of the Argus who
owes us to send us a check, postoffice money order, or cash, or call in person and pay
us. This is a reasonable request. We have been most indulgent with those in arrears.
It is but just to us, and to yourselves, that you come in now, or send, and settle your
account. Do not delay.
The Argus is widening and extending its territory of circulation. It has rounded
twenty-one years of continuous growth and heroic adherence to its high standards. Its
course in these twenty-one years shall be its pledge to the people of its unswerving
policy for the future.
