The cotton crop is everywhere reported to be in remarka bly fine condition, belter than it bu been at this season for many yean past, there is not a single dissenting voice concerning tbe splendid prospects for the crop iu North Carolina. Iu the Eastern District there bos been n de crease of a few per cent, in tbe acreage pointed in cottou, iu tbe Central Dis trict tbe aureuire planted is fully ui to tbeaveruue, while there has been con siderable increase in tii6 western por tions of the Slate. For the entire State the aoreage is probably 107 per cent. The condition of tobacco I fair : in some countie, as Lexington. Rock- ingbam, Surry aud Guilford, rather bad, wbile in others, as Granville. Stokes, Moore, McDowell, etc., it is good, iiisvcta, late fronts, nud dry weather Injured it so that a fair stand could only be obtained by repeated planting. The eutire crop has not ytt beeu planted and it is difficult to esti mate its general condition which will undoubtedly improve with ' continued favorable weather. Eastern District. The general effect has been favorable to nil crops, which are well worked and growing rapidly. Cetitnd District. Similar favorable conditions of tbe weather prevailed in iuthi district. Bain-full also badly distributed. It is rather dry in Cas well aud Vance counties, - but In all others copious shower fell. Heavy rain with bail at Forestville, Wake county on the 12th, did considerable damage to cotton by beating it down and washing laud.
