MURRAY, Pai MT. Near-Beers Shut Up. Last Saturday' Sheriff Rob't N. Cook with a deputy or two in an automobile visited about eight near-beer stands and bought samples of the stuff they have been selling, such as "no-tax" and what ever other, naige it goes by. He went so fast they were unable to communicate with each other, and they were completely demoralized. The offenders, all but three, whose whereabouts are unknown, came be fore a Justice Monday and Tuesday and entered a submission. The Justice suspended judgment for two years and ordered the prineipala each to pay a fine of SSO and costs and the clerks to pay a fine of S2O and costs. It is not known, but it is strongly suspected, that most of them were selling something strong er than "no-tax". The closing up operation was effected quietly. It was a good job. Since the above *ae written it is learned that every near-beer stand in the county is closed. New Advertiaenenit. N. S.
