PERRY Law Authorizing Tote on Six Months School Amendment The following act to amend the con stitution was passed by the General As sembly of 1917, and will be voted on Ln the November election: "Sectionl. Thai section three, ar ticle nine of the Constitution of North Carolina be and the same is hereby amended by striking out therefrom the words 'four months' and Inserting in lieu theroof the words 'ftix months.' "Sec. 2. That this amendment shpjl be submitted at the next general elec tion, to tho qualified voters of the State in the same manner and under the same rules and regulations as pro vided in the law regulating general elections ln this state. "Sec. 3 That at said election. Into a ballot box labeled 'Ballot Box for Constitutional amendment' or 'Ballot Box for Constitutional Amendments,' those persons desiring to vote such an amendment shall cast a separate print ed ballot with the words 'For Six Months School Term thereon, and thos with contrary opinion may past a sep arate printed ballot with the words 'Against Six Months School Term' That tho said election shall be held, and the vote returned, com pared, counted and canvassed and the results announced under the same ritfe and regulations as are in force at the general election tn the year one thous and rtine hundred and eighteen, for returning, comparing, counting, and canvassing the votes for Governor; i and if the majority of the votes cast ] bo in favor of the amendment, It ahall I be the duty of the Governor ol the State to certify said amendment un der the seal of the State to the Secre tary of State, who shall enroll the said amendment so certified among the permanent records of his office."
