bushel of sweet potatoes during this
period. As a reason offsetting aside
a week for" a campaign of this kind,
the Division of Markets states that
farmers in certain sections of Nortli
. Carolina have been forqed to seek new
money crops on account of damage to
cotton by the boll weevlly and to to
bacco by wilt disease. A large number

out of proportion to the present de
mand. In several sections of North

acting chief of the Divisions of Mar
kets, the farmers have made consider

complication of diseases. He had been

Tne deseasd was 45 years of age.
For the past si* years he has resided
la Durham during which time he had
c losely Identlled himself with the com
munlty In which he lived. He was a
member of the Temple Baptist church.
Ha was a member of the MaBons and
Odd Fellows.
Ha la survived by his widow and
eight children. The children are four
daughters, Misses Lucy, Annie, Bettle
and Pauline Oupton, all of Durham.
HI* mother Mrs. Bettle Oupton, three
sisters. Mrs. M. T. Davis, Mrs. J. B.
Smith, and Mrs. W L. Williams; two
brothers, D. A. and W. C. Oupton, all

The funeral will be held from the

with Rav. Trela D. Ooll|ns/ pastor of
