what earnest effort now being made
by growers from other sections to
get some of the seed business of this

As an example of how good seed will
Improve yields, a farmer In Mecklen
burg County crop planted part of hlB
cotton to the King variety and the re
mainder to Cook's Improved. When
he was ready to gin, he loaded one
wagon with 1250 pounds of King seed
cotton and another with 1250 pounds
of Cook's. His bale of Cook cotton
weighed 495 pounds and his bale of
King weighed 450 pounds. This is a
dlxerence of 45 pounds of lint with
cotton selling above 30 cents. This
man reported to County Agent Kope
Ellas that he had been taught a 'lesson
that he would not soon forget.
