ings Bank of Washington, D. C. as assistant cashier.
He is a native of Columbus County, is a Mason
and a Shriner, a director of the North State Can
ning Company and of the Eastern Carolina Cham
ber of Commerce. A man of strong personality,
progressive and public spirited, Mr. Powell is ?
leading figure in this section, and is a banker of
finesse and sound judgment who has the respect
and confidence of the people of this section. He
has just recently been chosen head of the American
Legion in North Carolina.
