Saturday, ofttce. The following letter Is sent to the club women of the county by Mrs. Estelle Smith who will have charge ot the Farm Womena Short Course this year: Goldsboro, N. C., March 12th, 1926. My Dear Co-Workers : I am writing to ask your coopera tion in making the Short Course for Farm Women a great success this year. This Short Course will be held June 14th-19th inclusive. There will be a course for women leaders and a course for other farm women. Every club should have at least one representative at the Short Course. No woman will be allowed to take more than two subjects. The sub jects to be offered are: 1. Food and Nutrition, which will include the selection and serving ot meals. Instructors: Miss Mary E. Thomas, Mrs. Morris, Miss Fergurson, and Miss Bridge. 2. House Furnishings, which in cludes painting and retinlshlng fur niture, and trips to local farms to see furnished rooms. Instructors: Miss Estabrook, Miss Creighton, Miss Pau line Smith, and Miss Holmes. 3. Arts and Crafts. Every woman will enjoy this class in the afternoon before a trip over to Raleigh to some store, institution, or place of interest. Mrs. Gordon and Miss Horne irill have this class. Wood Girls' Club In the absence of the president, Wllma Gupton, presided at the girls club meeting at Wood Wednesday morning. Honor members remember ing to bring material for the sewing lesson were Cleo Griffin, Leona Ray nor, and Eula and Doris Wester. Af ter the sewing lesson the home agent spent a few minutes in discussing the different classes of food. Pilot Womans' Club Twenty-one members were present , at the womans club meeting at Pilot I Wednesday afternoon. After the busi- ' ness session the home agent talked |1 on the twelve months home garden. Several members will try some new vegetables this season and report the pesults to the club. White Level Girls' Club The different classes of food was the subject of the lesson at the girls club meeting at White Level Thus day afternoon. The work with foods followed an interesting program given by the club. The treasurer reported the receipt of $7 prize money won at the county fair last fall. It was de cided to have a club p'cnic early in April. After a discussion of the State Girls Short Course a motion to send a representative from Seven Paths Club carried. Bertha House had the honor of being elected representative. After work in sewing had been in spected the club served refreshments. Sandy Creek Girls Club Eleven members were enrolled at the first meeting ot the Sandy Creek Girls Club. At the meeting on Tues day eleven well made cup towels were handed in. Has any club a better i first lesson record than this? The, work in sewing was followed by a: lesson in weights and measures.
