At a meeting of the school com
mittee held at the home of Mrs.
C. C. Cheatham and presided over
by Chairman Geo. N Stell, the
regular monthly meeting time was
set for Monday sfter the first Sun
day. Miss Lillian Winston and
Mrs. G. C. Patterson were selected
to have charge of the lunch room,
and Mrs. G. E. Winston for ele
mentary and Mrs. W. F. Mitchell
for high school, were selected as
substitute teachers.

Onr Glee Clab was organized
Friday afternoon. Sept. 21. The

We are making plans to hare
regular weekly meetings. Oar
purpose is to stimulate the inter
est in music among the pupils
and to Improve group singing in

Athletic Clab
Mr. Holden and his boys made
a very good Job of cleaning the
school grounds last Saturday. It
shows much improvement.
With the game in Franklinton
on October 12th as an incentive,
both the boy's and girl's team are
getting down to serious work this
week. Our light practice last
week served as a starter in get
ting us In shape for the competi
tive games.

St. Matthias Episcopal Mission

We had a large number of boys
aad girls to greet aa in our school
the Irst of the week. Oar morn
ing derotions were beautiful and
impressive. The school la open
ed each morning with daily morn
ing prayer, aad ainging of beauti
ful hymns.
On Monday the boys and girls
were given a mesaage on obedi
ence and good citizenship. The
conduct and attendance for the
firat week has been almost per
fect. We give daily instructions
on proper home-training, in this
way we are helping the boys and
girls to be respectful and manner
able In their homes, in the school,
and on the streets.
Our school has rendered a real
service in thia community tor 45
year*. We hare sent out scores
and scores of boys and girls who
