"Storm Over The Andes" Some of the most remarkable flying ever done in a motion pic ture is to be seen in Universal** thrilling South American war and aviation drama, "Storm Over the AihIin," at the Loui.sburg Thea tre, Wednesday, Nov. 27th, ac cording to those who have seen previews. More than a dozen of Hollywood's most skilled flyers, some of them Army graduates, helped Jack Holt, star of the pro duction, Antonio Morena, Gene Lock hart, Mona Barric, Grant Withers and other players to in ject realism into the production. Among the veterns of the sky ways who participated in the production are Garland Lincoln and Frank Tomiek, both former Army fliers with some 0,500 hours of flying to their credit; Karl Gordon, and Herb White, who have been identified with Hollywood pilots' associations for many years, and Vance * Breese, former airplane manufacturer and airline operator. "We combed Hollywood to get the finest talent, and thus secure photography of acrobatic which never has been seen before,*' de clares Maurice Pivar, associate producer of the production. 14 Add ed to this we have an unusual background. Most war aviation pictuif^p have been made with the Western Front as atmosphere, but Im this ease the battling Is done ih South America, over des olate wastes where a crack-up means death from wild animals or reptiles if the pilot is not in-i jured by his fall or uses his parachute.'* PLIANT WILLIAMS PASSES On last Thursday. Nov. 14th. death claimed one of Franklin county's most beloved and res pected colored citizens. Pliant Williams. "Uucle Pliant" as he was affectionately called by hun dreds of his white friends was loved by all who knew him. both white and colored. He was noted for his honesty, his courtesy and love for his family and fellow man, and th? love of those who knew him was manifest in the large congregation that overflow ed Nelson's Chapel church last Saturday where his funeral was held during one of the rainiest days of the year, and by the large and beautiful floral tribute paid him. "Uncle Pliant" was 79 years old and leaves behind his faithful wife "Aunt Prlscilla," also 79 j year old and 9 children, 5 boys and four girls. May his life be an Inspiration to those who knew him.
