Sept. 5, 1938. 9-9-4t CONSTIPATION (More About It) We have considered the WHAT and WHY of Constipation, so now let us study the WHERE and WHEN. Constipation, as we have stated, is the sluggish or retarded elimination of the feces (product of bowel elimination or stools). It occurs whenever the colon and intes tines fail to do their part of the body activities due chiefly to improper nerre stimu lation. Constipation, acute and chronic, is found present in more than 75 different diseases. The symptoms of constipation may range indefinitely; among them are ? loss of appetite, no pep, no ambition, listless, tired, mental depression, dizziness, headache, impaired vision, high or low blood pressure, etc. Rather than being list ed as a symptom of numerous diseases and human ailments, Constipation might more logically be termed a "famous forerunner, evil root," or cause of the ailments. Constipation may, and does, occur in person of all ages from babes to the "aged," in people of all types and classes, in folks of all professions and occupations. This "marauder" is no respector of persons. However, there are some types of occupa tion and professions that a? its invasion and intrusion. People who are engaged day after day in office work as stenographers, secretaries, printers, dressmakers, tailors, bookkeepers, etc., are especially susceptible. Their work requires long sit ting, bending, stooping, lack of exercise and outdoor sunshine. Children confined to school rooms during the school session are threatened by this evil. Any occupa tion or work which requires an assuming of an abnormal posture for long periods of time, producing poor posture habits and their complications is a great factor in aiding and abetting this dreaded condition. Prevention is easier, better, more profitable and more pleasant. Steps of preven tion taken under advice of your ghiropfactor are logical and desirous. Steps for banishing this condition are particularly satisfactory and successful through drug less treatment. i ' - CONSULT YOUR CHIROPRACTOR FOR ADVICE.
