This church Parochial School has been in this community for 50 years. We have turned out some line young men and ladies. We are proud of the record that this school has made through t'he boys and girls that have been under our care. The Episcopal Church here and Parochial School have al-i ways been supported by and throtigh our good staunch white friends. We are trying hard to teach our boys and girls the fun damental things of life. What my group needs most is to learn how i to read, write, spell and figure, soj they may be able to take care off themselves in the things that come up in every day life. 60 per cent of our boys and girls stop school in the 7 th grade. What they need is an opening along the industrial lines. As a group on a whole we know how to use' our hands. Book knowledge is not all we need. The late Booker T. Wash ington was a real; leader of his race. He .know the thingn wo negd-| ed and could do best. I would like to see some Industrial Training in all of our Negro schools. We will have 3 teachers in our Baxochlal School, and we are holding to the same rule we began with 40 years i ago. We are teaching our boys and ^ girls to be polite, honest, indus trious. race pride, and. we always, want the boys and girls under our; care to be nice and respect our good white citizenship. The good | southland is our home, and vlJ know from experience that our white friends are interested in the welfare of tjie Negro. If I live to| see the second Sunday in October' I will have lived here and served ! this community 40 years. I feel I deeply grateful to Louisburg and, Franklin County for the fine treat ment I have received far beyond; what I deserve. My on# desir^ iS; to see my race do right and not do anything to bring on disMir-, bance or bad feelings. GEORGE C. POLLARD.
