This is the first of a series of articles sponsored by the Franklin County Medical Society written in an effort to arouse a greater sense of responsibility on the part of some of the people of Franklin County to their past due medical accounts. The Society has been making a study of delinquent amounts of this and past years in an attempt to understand some of the reasons why a certain portion of our peo ple do not pay Doctors and if pos sible to arrive at some measure to improve this condition of affairs. In our Study of many thousand accounts it becomes apparent that "hard times" cannot be pleaded as the teal reason. We found repeat ed instances where Mr.' A. has each year either paid his account in full or made a substancial pay ment while his neighbor Mr. B whose station in life and oppor tunities seem to be equal in every respect goes deeper into debt to several" Doctors year. by year ami pays nothing to any of them.
