TROJANS DEFEAT BULLDOGS
The Louisburg College Trojans
won over the A. C. C. Bulldogs,
9-2 in a game played 011 Louis
burg Monday afternoon. Ed Kim

double and a single for his three
turns at bat.
Dick Norvell with three singles
for four was the leader in the
Trojans 12-hit attack. Hicks with
two for thre?, and Roe, Kimball,

the local team.
The Trojans clinched the game!

inning and they could have had

Sam Marshall died 011 the even
ing of May 5. 1940 about eight
o'clock, after krrtving at the Gold
Sand School building for ilie bac
calaureate sermon.
His passing came as a shock to
loved ones and friends. He was
engaged in a conversation with
friends when the end came.
Sam was born February 16.
1884. He was married to Miss
Lucy Carroll July 4. 1910. To
this union was born t-hree child

the home Monday afternoon at 3
o'clock, conducted by his pastor.
Rev. John Edwards and a former
pastor. Rev. Charles B. Howard,
after which interment was made
in the family cemetery by the side
of his wife -who preceded him to
the grave nearly four years.
Besides his children, he iB sur
vived by his mother, Mrs. Jackie
Marshall, four sisters. Mrs. John!
Clark. Mrs. Frank Bobbitt. of
Zebulon: Mrs. W. S Carroll and
Mrs. E. G. Cooper of the commu
nity. Two brothers. Mr. John Mar
shall. of near LouisburK. aud Mr.
.lames Marshall, of near Alberta.
Va.
He was a faithful member of
l he Mt. Zion Baptist Church, and
will be greatly missed In his home,
church and community.
