Franklin County To Organize Small Grain Program Arrangements have been made and plans worked out for organ izing and developing one variety ijgmall grain communities in Franklin County. Plans for one variety communities will be ex plained at meeting in Agricultur al Building in Louisburg Wed nesday afternoon, September 4, at 2:00 P. M., announces W. C. Boyce, County Agent. The object of this meeting is to supply infor mation and establish organization for small grain community work for the purpose of maintaining a reliable source of seed and to eco nomically inaugurate a program to produce seed of good quality for distributioo in Franklin and adjoining counties. Mr. E. C. Blair, Extension Agronomist of State College, Mr. A. D. Stuart, Secretary of N. C. Crop Improvement Association, and Mr. O. F. McCrary. District - Agent have offered their assist ance in the program. Besides t'he organization phase of the pro gram, Mr. E. C. Blair will dis cuss fertilization and crop rota tion for profitable production of small grain and Mr. Stuart will discuss different varieties of small grain giving both their good and bad qualities and meth-| od of producing certified seed. j All farmers and businessmen in 1 Franklin County interested in ; small grain improvement are in- ' vtted to attend and participate in I tihe meeting. Tobacco marketing cards and i cotton marketing cards have been prepared and are ready to be de- . livered to more than 99% of farm operators in Franklin County. We wish to invite them to call for their marketing cards at earliest convenience to avoid a last mln- 1 ute rush immediately prior to op-1 ening of tobacco markets in this I vicinity and prior to the ginning | of cotton. The marketing cards issued are personal property of the operators and extreme care and precaution should be taken to see that they are used only to identify crops produced on Uhe land covered by the Work Sheet for which the card is issued. The Agricultural Adjustment Act pro vides severe penalties' for misuse of marketing cards and the opera tors to whom they are issued are held responsible to see that they are used properly. The Cotton ginneri of Franklin County are held responsible for reporting each bale of cotton gin ned. Farmers can render them a greater assistance by properly Identifying their cotton with tihelr cotton marketing card at time of ginning. When cotton Is proper ly identified, correct credit! for yield Is assured the farm. ADMINISTRATOR'S NOTICE Having qualified as Adminis trator of the estate of I. M.
