Mr. Ayscue further advised that 15,785 pounds of Austrian winter peas had already been dis ributed mostly to small farmers n Franklin County to assist' them in earning their soil building al lowance, but most of all to pro mote a program of soil building by planting winter legumes on their farms. There has been one carload consisting of 54 tons of agricultural limestone ordered. This material was ordered as Grant of Aid by P. R. Inscoe, Leonard Frazier, N. F. Freeman, W. Seba Strickland. Grace R. Kearney, J. C. Nowell and L. O. Fazier. We have recently been advised that a small quantity of Italian rye grass and vetch would be made available around Octo ber 1 as Grant of Aid wiMi deduc tion rate of 5 l-4c on Italian rye grass aud it l-2c on vetch. Mr. Ferguson showed pictures which offered complete assurance to the farmers t'hat they could obtain high grade and good ginning of their cotton if they took proper steps to 'assure cl?an picking and give cctton a!' least one day's sun ning before taking to the gin. One bale of cotton was observed at gin in sheets where sheets had beeu on ground and as a result the cotton near the ground in the sheets was too wet- for proper ginning. The United States postoffice de partment is issuing so many new kinds of stamps one cannot keep up with the changes but there isn't likely to be any protest so long as present prices remain the same.
