ANSWEK: Entomologists of State College and the U. S. De-| partment of Agriculture agree that the tobacco moth infection in North Carolina is not serious enough yet to resort to the re heating method which is likely to cause the tobacco to "redden", thereby lowering the quality. In stead, they recommend that the grower grade and market tobacco from a moth-infested barn .as rapidly as convenient. Then clean up thoroughly all the scrap and trash tobacco since moths breed in old tobacco. If such a practice is followed, even to the extent of sweeping down the side wails, the chances are that next year's infestation will be very slight, if any. QUESTION : How much out* should be fed to a poultry flock ..at this season of the year? ANSWER: C. F. Parrish, Ex tension poultry specialist, says that in many cases trouble lias been experienced with the flock eating too many oats where the oats are kept in the hopper be fore the birds at all times. The production, and sometimes the hatchability are lowered due to decreased mash consumption. To avoid such trouble, he recom mends that 6 to 8 pounds of heavy oals per 100 birds be fed each afternoon. yi'ESTION : Wliul Is a good grazing mixture for <lulry cows which rim fx- planted nun ami grazed curly next spring or con verted into liay or silage? ANSWER: John A. Arey, Ex tension dairyman. says a good mixture for this purpose consists of 2 bushels of winter oats, one bushels of barley, one-half bushel of beardless wheat, and 10 pounds of crimson clover.
