German and Italian diplomacy, which Axis spokesmen call "a form of war", appeared tonight to be directed toward a new agree ment among Hungary, Rumania and I Bulgaria as a prelude to a fresb campaign against the Brit ish Empire. The German arniy'in Rumania, estimated by conservative neutral observers at more than 300.000 and possibly 500,000 men, is a possible guide to the trend. Italian sources in Rome assert ed that Bulgaria and Rumania would Join in forthcoming war moves of Germany and Italy and that Spain's decision would be come known after Spanish Fore ign Minister Serrano Suner. fresh from conversations yesterday with , ReltUsfuehrer Hitler reached Madrid -'Ask Turk*' O. Bulgaria's reward for coopera tion would be an outlet to bhe | Aegean, through Greece, while . Spain would gain Gibraltar and .perhapn more of Morocco ? this was the hypothesis generally i agreed upon by observers in Home I and elsewhere. A Greek spokesman at Bern de- | clared that t<he Greek high com-i mand had taken all necessary I | steps to meet such an attack, j Foreign military observers believ-; ed. however, that Greece would need Turkish aid. Of Mie bare facts, these were foremost: i Disclosure that King Boris of | Bulgaria secretly interviewed [Adolf Hitler last Sunday; l Announcement that Hungary's ( i premier and foreign minister.! Only Yugoslavia seemed to have been left out of the Axis cur rent conference diplomacy, hut . this Haitian kingdom already had I pledged economic and political co operation. The Bulgarian public was de scribed as strongly opposed to war, but it was acknowledged that Germany was in position to force permission for passage of troops. ADV?RTISIIUr^ A GOOD SALE!
