"What bride is simple*" <*ay? Henry. "The one I got in mind," says, "went to the market for iQtncemeat. "Be sure," she says to the butcher, "to cut it off a nice young and tender mince." But to get back to the sales tax. When you buy furniture on the installment plan. ' BACK THE ATTACK BUY MORE BONDS *reggo?? i Leads in Looiiboig" BACK THE ATTACK BUY 1 MOKE BONDS CAMPAIGN ISSUES In the coming Primary there are many important issues to be decided. Some of them are: 1. Shall we abolish the sales tax in these good times and use our surplus in maintaining our schools and raising the salaries of the State employees or shall we continue the sales tax and accumulate a nice nest egg to be used in assisting to rehabilitate our returning ser vice men and women and to lighten our tax burdens when the hard times come again? 2. How long are the people of North Carolina going to per mit the "Gag Rule" to be used in our General Assembly? This is most important of all issues. H. A, FAULKNER. POLITICAL GOSSIP V *t Gossip has it that Judge G. M. Beam has withdrawn from the County Senatorial Race and will give his support to Mr. Lumpkin, so that Mr. Lumpkin can demote Ills time to the cam paign of McDbnald whom Mr. Beam is said to be supporting. I don't believe it. Gossip says Mr.. Weldon Eger ton is managing Mr. Inscoe's campaign. Will a wet manage a dry's campaign? Looks fun ny to me. H, A, FAULKNER.
