Alston Hayes Cheek. 61, for more than thirty years prominently connec ted with banking In Henderson, died at 8:30 o'clock Monday even ing at his home on Chestnut Street after a brief Illness. He had been In poor health for some time. At the time of hlB death and for many years before that, Mr. Cheek had been assistant cash ier and secretary of the Citizens i Bank ft Trust Company in Hen derson, and was widely known in banking circles in the State. He was otherwise Interested in bus iness, civic and church circles In the city. He was a lifelong mem ber of Holy Inncents Episcopal Church here, and at the time of his death was a member of the vestry of that congregation. He was bom in Henderson July 4, 1882, the son of Colonel William Hayes Cheek and Alice Mutter Jones, of "Woodley" in Warren County, and had lived In Henderson practically all of his llle. He was esteemed by a host of friends and acquaintances. 'Surviving are the widow, the former Miss Helen Lamb, of Hen- j derson; a son, Alston Hayes Cbeek, Jr., U. S. N. H . Quarter master School, Balnhridge, Md.; a daughter, Helen Lamb Cheek of Henderson; one brother, A. J. Cheek, of Henderson, and two sisters, Mrs. A. Bradley, of Bur lington, and Mrs. A. S. Hall, of Oxford. Funeral services will be held at Holy Innocents Episcopal Church at 5 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, in charge of the rec tor, Rev.
