Clapp successfully eliminated many large and com plicated Supply problems, such as, equipment shortages, trans ferring accountably property records, and the lack of trained supply personnel. The employ ment of sound management practices, astute planning abi lity, and tenacity of purpose by Sgt. Clapp materially improved the materiel function of the 8436 AFRRG. Sgt. Clapp is being reassigned in the near future to Thule Air Base, Greenland. He is married to the former Savada Harper of Loulsburg, N. C. C. S. of the Frank llnton Methodist Church met at the church Monday afternoon. Mrs. J. E. Whitfield presid ed over the business session at which time Mrs. .George Cook* gave a financial report, Mrs. Whitfield announced that Kay Green of Gates, \ C., a graduate of Greensboro Col lege, was going as a Mis sionary to Africa for three years. .Of 43 new missionaries, who were commissioned re cently, six were Methodist. 'Mrs. George Cooke gave an Informative program on the sihject "What Shall We Tell Our Children About Suffering?" Fannie Heck Circle Meets , ? Kranklinton-The Fannie Heck Circle of the Frankllnton Bap tist Church met at the church Monday afternoon. Following the Lord's Prayer, Mrs. Hubert Utley presented the program, "Sharing Our Pos sessions". Mesdames Fred Blount, ' Norman Mitchell, W. A, Shearon and John Gonella assisted with the presentation of the program. During the business session, Mrs. L. W. Henderson gave a financial report. Plans were made for the circle members to visit the Benjamin Franklin Boarding Home on the second Sunday In August. Mrs. Utley was appointed as the new chair man of the circle. Mrs. W. A. Bradstreet of Crystal Beach, Florida, was a visitor. Kay Hall, members of the Youngsvllle Senior Girl Scout Troop, were selected by the pines of Carolina Girl Scout Council to attend, the Interior Decorating conference which was held In High Point, N. C. on August 4, 5, and 6. The two local Scouts Joined with one hundred other , scouts of the Council Sunday at the Holiday Inn for registration; and a welcome by the mayor of High Point. Girl Scouts re presenting the Council were from various areas of central North Carolina which Is now included In the new council. While there the girls had the opportunity of .taking tours of furniture . houses Including Schoubeck, Tomllnson and Globe. They saw upholstering being made at Artistic . In corporated. On Monday even ing a picnic was held at Girl Scout Camp Keyowee. On Tues day they toured Alderman Stu Studlos, American Supply Com pany, and the Furniture Ex position Building. Highlights of the conference were talks on career oppor tunities In Interior Design; which were presented by the Myrtle Desk Staff. Youngsvllle Troop Organizer, Mrs. A. E. Hall, attended the conference with the scouts. "Growing Up And Liking It" There will be a meeting for girls from ages 10-12 Friday morning from 10 to II O'clock In the Home Ec. department at Loulsburg School. This program will be spon sored by the Girl Scouts and Mrs. Margie Leonard will show a .film. and give a very Interest ing talk on "Growing Up and Liking It." You must be a senior nest year at your high school anC you must be willing to learn to type and to work to wards having a good column. All of you who are taking those beach trips are really having fun l know, but you're still missed around the old 'burg. I was terrible sorry to hear about Tony Summerlln's acci dent. The morning worship was also con ducted by the young people. The youth choir sang during the morning worship and Bill Day, youth week pastor, preached the sermon. During the week the "youn$ people viewed movies, par ticipated in Bible study, and related discussions, conducted a debate* and played games. Activities' took place each night, Monday through Friday, A lively discussion occurred re garding the de'bate top, "Re solved: high schools should re gulate students' dress." Par ticipants In the debate were Kay Forsythe, Jenny Sue. Mc Ghee, Andy Hoyle and Bill Day. The following young people served as youth week leaders and teachers: Bill Day, pas tor; Jean Forsythe., Sunday School Superintendent; and Lin da Walser, Sunday School Secretary. Department super lntendents and teachers were: Juniors: Kay Forsythe, super intendent; Barry Mangum, Dan ny Held, Victor Adams, De lores Johnson, Cynthia Dicker son and BrendaWebb, teachers: Adult I: Kay Watson, superin tendent; Marjorle Johnson, Cheryl Eakes and Wayne Hob good, teachers; Adult II: Jenny Sue McGhee, superintendent; Marsha Ross, Jackie Wynne and Andy Hoyle, teachers. Ushers were Danny Reld, Tom my Carter, Donald Day am Eddie Holmes. Mrs. Adelle Wynne provided refreshments for the group each night. The meeting was 1 opened with the singing of "We've A Story To Tell To The Nations", In the absence of the president, Mrs. Ralph S. Knott, vice-president pre sided over the business meet ing. Mrs. Knott announced the State Mission Offering to be taken In September. The Margaret B.
