Monday night at the home -of
Mrs. James W. Allen with six
members present. The meeting
was opened with a. scripture
reading and prayer by the chair
man, Mrs. G. O. Kennedy.
An interesting program en
titled Baptist Emerge Into
Modern History was presented
by Mrs. N. C. Mullen ?who
closed the meeting with prayer.
During the social hour which
followed delicious refresh
ments were served.
The Florence Wells Circle
met on Monday night with Mrs.
C. M. Vaughan on South Mam
Street. The call to prayer was
given by Mrs. Joe Sheartn after
which Mrs. R. G. Bailey gave
an interesting and informative
talk on early Englishmen who
were persecuted in their ef
forts to separate religion from i
state.
During the business meeting,
presided over by Mrs. Pattie
L. Justice. various reports
were giver, including visitation !
and ards sent during the month.
The hostess served delicious
lemon pie, salted nuts, cheese
bits, and coffee to eleven mem
bers.

Street. The meeting was opened

Hamlet Begins
Bill Williamson of Richmond,
Va. takes on one of the
theatre's most challenging
roles as Hamlet April 23-25 at
the College Auditorium.
The role has 1500 lines-- half
the play. On the 900 square feet
of the stage, Williamson covers
2.75 miles per performance,
much of it at high speed. And
of course the role is famous
for covering Just about every
human emotion.
In addition to actinf training,
the part of Hamlet demands!
rigorous mental and physical
training. The program includes
regulated study hours, rest,

Scholarship.
Two scholarships for 4-HClub

Demonstration Club members
from each supervisory district

tend the Annual State Music
Workshop. This workshop Is
held In Greensboro for one
week during July.
Tony was selected from six
applications sent in by 4-H
Club members. Judging was on
the basts of training in music,
how they had used their musical
ability in the past and future
plans for using their musical
training.
Tony will compete with the
winners from the other 17 coun
ties In the Northeastern District
Winners will be announced in
