Mullen ?who closed the meeting with prayer. During the social hour which followed delicious refresh ments were served. The Florence Wells Circle met on Monday night with Mrs. C. M. Vaughan on South Mam Street. The call to prayer was given by Mrs. Joe Sheartn after which Mrs. R. G. Bailey gave an interesting and informative talk on early Englishmen who were persecuted in their ef forts to separate religion from i state. During the business meeting, presided over by Mrs. Pattie L. Justice. various reports were giver, including visitation ! and ards sent during the month. BILL WILLIAMSON Hamlet Begins Bill Williamson of Richmond, Va. takes on one of the theatre's most challenging roles as Hamlet April 23-25 at the College Auditorium. This year's graduates number approxi mately 180. Wins Music Scholarship Tony Gupton, a member of the Wood 4-H Club has been ?elected to represent Frank lin County In the contest for the Julie F. Cuyler Music Scholarship. Two scholarships for 4-HClub members and two for Home Demonstration Club members from each supervisory district *re awarded each year to at tend the Annual State Music Workshop. This workshop Is held In Greensboro for one week during July. Tony was selected from six applications sent in by 4-H Club members. Judging was on the basts of training in music, how they had used their musical ability in the past and future plans for using their musical training.
