Ruth Mercer Circles Meet (Frit. B.W.) Ruth Mercer Cir cle No. 1 of the WJS.C.S. of the Fr&nkllnton Methodist Church met at the home of the new chairman, Mrs. Wood row Hasklns, Thursday evening. Mrs. Frank Collins was nam ed vice chairman, Mrs, E. A. Harris, Jr., secretary, ani^ Mrs. P. F. Whttfleld, treasur-^ er, by Mrs. Hasklns, chair man. Miss Lei A Allen was appoint ed to be In charge of assign ing hostesses and program leaders for the year. Mrs. W. W. Cooke and Mrs. Frank Collins.'' will be In charge of flower assignments and Mrs. A. B. Allen, Jr., will be re sponsible for the nursery. The clVcle members listened to the telecast of Billy Graham, which was the program for the evening. During the social hour the hostess served Cokes, potato Chips and cheese wafers. Ruth Mercer Circle No. 2 of the Frankllnton Methodist Church met at the home of Mrs. Richard Gollghtly Thursday ev ening with the new chairman, Mrs. Floyd Bell, presiding. Mrs. Tommle Stephens was named vice Chairman; Mrs. J. D. Mode, secretary, and Mrs. Norrls Collins, treasur er. Following a financial report, the chairman assigned flowers for the month of June to vari ous members. Hostesses and program' leaders were named for the next twelve months. Pledge cards were signed by the eleven members present. The program for the evening consisted of the members viewing Billy Graham on tele vision. Speaking to an Inter national audience, Mr. Graham stressed the fact that everyone is made of one blood and are Reunion Held (Frk. B.W.) Relatives of the late J. J. Holmes held a re union at the Community House In Frankllnton Sunday. There were fifty people pres ent -for the picnic lunch and the afternoon of fellowship. Relatives from Chase City, Virginia, Wilson, Oxford, Ra leigh, Loulsburg, Youngsville, and Bellevue, Nebraska, as well as Franklinton, enjoyed the oc casion. ' all creatures of Cod. Mrs. Richard Whitfield, W.S.C.S. president, gave a re port on the Spiritual Retreat held at Loulsburg College on June 3. During the social hour, the hostess, assisted by Sarah Gollghtly, served a dessert ftourse. Local Teens Attend Demo. Meet The Teen Democratic Club of Loulsburg attended the annual Teen Democratic Convention in Raleigh at State College last weekend. Those attending from the local Loulsburg Club were the following: Betsy Green, President; Mike Fuller, Tracey Winn, Billy Fuller and Tommy Fuller. The Loulsburg Teen*Dem Club represented all of Frank lin County and |pd 10 votes to cast for each person running for an office at the convention. Franklin County was in the, Second District, and Betsy Green was appointed reporter on the Second District staff. She was also appointed to the Historical Committee a?4 gave a report at the Saturday1 after noon Convention. New officers of the North Carolina Teen Dems were elected. The officers were as follows: President, Ed Croom from Charlotte; Eastern ^lce Presi dent, Llnwood Rl<4j)f Fair mont; Middle Vice President, Jerry Plnsker of Greensboro; Western Vice President, Dan Kllllan of Cullowhee; Treas urer, Joe Wheeler of Burling ton; Secretary, Mary Lcfu Bell of Laurlnburg. The Convention ended Satur day night with a dance at which the Alpacas, from Burlington, N. C.# played. Everyone had a great time and Pm sure all are planning to attend the convention next year.
